'The Pitfalls of the Manifesto' Manifesto
or
The Truth Is To Be Found Within Paradox

I don't like straight lines.
Unless
They are used
To exemplify
Unstraight lines.

If the material carries the sculpture, then the sculpture has become ornamental. It is better that the material empowers the meaning.

Art; as gateway to the Divine

The mathematician, who lives in confusion: nothing within the equation quite makes sense.
Until it is fully solved.
A momentary respite.
Then the confusion of the next challenge begins.

Art; as a focus of dynamic balance, a holographic microcosm, a point of mystic intensity, a spiritual nexus.

Take it as far as you can...
Then take a step back.

Layer. Each layer of the Aesthetic and the Intent and the Meaning within the Form is a problem to be solved. If it is not solved completely then from the grosser Layer the finer Layer must be solved until the minutiae of the problem is solved within the delicacy of the finest Layer.

Does the eye latch on to anything and embrace it lovingly for a while, just a little while, and then dance on, until it falls in love again?

A manifesto can be a powerful tool to focus a Will, or a decadent noose which restricts an idea, containing it, cutting off the creative flow.

Artist; as Shaman

Art; as relevant for a thousand years.
Not of historical interest, but of Eternal Beauty.
Not of contemporary cleverness, but Innate and Timeless Meaning.

I don't sculpt forms.
I sculpt
Qualities.

The manifesto comes after the process. It is only through the doing and the plumbing of the subconscious that the darkness of the hidden can be resolved and exposed. If the manifesto blossoms in retrospect, the truthfulness of its mystery is revealed. If it is created beforehand by a restricted intellect, what appears from its enactment may lack the roots of deep exploration.

Art; as Service.

I like straight lines.
When they tell the eye
Where I want it
To go.
